Kurt,
This is one of the most remarkable documentaries I have ever seen, and am so glad you decided to allow us the opportunity to see it. My question is, once you had the film, what steps did you take to share it with us? I just chanced upon it this evening and was captivated, and even surprised at how lucky I was to have just found it on TV. Thanks.

Dear Kurt,
I am not much of a writer. I even had a hard time finding the right search engine to comment on,so please bear with me. From the first moment I started to watch "Dear Zachary" I couldn't believe what I was watching so I watched it again. You did an awesome piece of work. I could only imagine how heartbreaking for you as well to tell this story.Everyone that watches this should be thankful for all that they have. There is no way of knowing the grief that the Bagsby's endure however the gift that you gave to them by telling this story is a bright light I hope in their hearts. I know that you inspired me to be a better person and know that each day is a gift.
OMG those poor people what hearts of gold they have...I have told my friends and family about this story. I have asked them to go to the site and support the Bagsby family. I want them to know that they are in my prayers. I also want to Thank You for sharing the gift that God has given you to express this story as I have never seen such a more beautiful way to touch a heart..
With all my prayers
From a MOTHER & a GrandmotherCan you please ask MSNBC to air this again soon,,,,more of my friends wish to see it...

Dear Kurt,
I'm about done with your docu and am very sorry for your loss and the family's terrible, unimaginable loss as well.
I feel sick to my stomach as I do everytime I see, hear or read about tragedy that is so deeply personal.....
Many of us have children and cannot help but project our own angelic children's faces upon Zachary's or other innocents that become victims due to the twisted psychology of adults - whether parental or governmental.
We pray. We wail. But, all we really can do is wrap our babies in our arms and let them know that they will never be in harms way - whether we can keep that promise or not.
Anyway, your film was intense, amazing, devastating and ultimately...profound. You've touched the hearts of so many - mine included. Thanks again.
Take care,
PL
P.S. I felt that some of your stylistic technique was borderline horror film, but, when you think about it... the story itself WAS a horror story was it not? There's a certain honesty in that, eh? Thanks for continuing on...

Dear Kurt,
I went and looked at your Dear Zachary website and was thrilled to see all of the accolades and awards your film is gathering. Congratulations and how wonderful for you and all involved. To make such great good come from complete eclipse of the sun...the darkness of horror, despair and hopelessness, is beyond remarkable. Much and continued great success on an amazing achievement in film-making, communication, consciousness raising, healing, sharing, and hopefully law changing.
Very best,
Jill

What a wonderful tribute to your friend Andrew. I watched Dear Zachery and was very saddened at the end that the authorities did not see fit to take Zachery away from harms way and give him to the two people who loved him his grandparents.

Hi Kurt,
I just wanted to tell you that I finished watching your beautiful piece and am overwhelmed and truly touched by the whole story. Its really refreshing to know that there are people like you and Andrew's friends, and especially Andrew's parents and family, here in the world. I can't get over how sweet and loving Andrew's parents are and makes me appreciate my family even more. I will be writing to the Canadian Parliament about the law in support your story. Thank you for sharing your story with me.
Best Wishes and Best of Luck!
Sincerely,
B. Parker

A very, very heart wrenching story. So beautifully done and a testament to the love, strength and courage of the Bagby's and Kurt.
I don't think anyone could watch this and not head straight to the Internet to find out how we could make a difference.
I am so sorry for all of your losses.
Thank You for sharing the story and giving the rest of the world the opportunity to fall in love with the Bagby's and a chance to be touched by Andrew and Zachary, so that we too can help.

Dear Kurt,
Your film about the Bagby family was one of the saddest human stories I have ever seen. It was by accident that I was even watching TV tonight. Two things hooked me, 1)the title "Letter to Zachary" caught my eye because my stepson's name is Zachary too and 2) in the beginning of your movie, I heard the word "Sunnyvale", my home town in California, born in San Jose Hospital. Stayed in the Bay Area until I was 40, now 45 and living on the coast in Oregon.
Andrew's parents are such strong people. They are a testament to what the human psyche can endure not that we are supposed to be tested in such an unfair way. What an atrocity that this women was not brought to justice and held accountable for the death of your friend(and brother) Andrew Bagby. A major flaw in the legal system in the US and in Canada. This murder was a cut and dry case of 1st Degree murder. Personally, I do not believe in the death penalty but this case comes close. I wanted her to die especially after the way she used that beautiful boy, Zachary, as a manipulation with Andrews parents. But, if that was not enough for Andrew's parents to endure. Then to lose that baby.
I was burning inside and appalled that the court let that monster out on bail,
TWICE !I hope others will be motivated by this painful and unnecessary tragedy to take action and support the Bagby's in there quest to change the laws of alleged murderers.
It sounds as though you had to dig deep to finish this film. Thank you for doing so.
Regards,

I dont know what to say, other than that, I have not felt this way in years.... I have hardened my heart to pain/loss and never thought anything could touch my heart...UNTIL YOU CAME ALONG
You made me Love Andrew, then you made me grieve his losss...then you gave me hope in Zachary....then you ripped my heart out with his murder tooo!
Just when I was about to slit my own wrists....you gave me HOPE in Dave and Kate!
You showed me the power of LOVE in the midst of HATE!!!! How can I feel pitty for myself when my problems are trivial compared to that of your family!
Never, will I forget, the impact that the loss of your family and courage they have, to forge forward, has jolted my own mindset to keep focused on the basic needs in life: LOVE and TOGETHERNESS. The rest is null!
Thank You for bringing me back to the real word, and I thank Dave and Kate for enduring endless pain and torture, so people like me can find strength to get out of bed another day!
GOD Bless you ALL!!

Dear Kurt,
First off I'd like to say how sorry I am for your loss, it's unimaginable. I watched your documentary today and I fell in love with baby Zachary and his wonderful father Andrew. I can't believe the legal system and how terribly it failed, it's scary that it's so unreliable. I would like to do anything I can to help try to make the laws tougher on murderers, if you could email me with places I can write to, that would be wonderful. I just want to do anything I can to make a difference in such a horrible tragedy. Thank you for making your documentary, it has forever touched my heart and I'm sure the hearts of everyone else that has seen it and will see it.
Sincerely, Sara Baldwin
